🍸It’s called Fire Cider and it’s loaded with good-for-you spices and ingredients!

You can use it as a spicy “mocktail” mixed with seltzer or tomato juice, in a tea, or as a salad dressing … or even drizzled over veggies, rice, and stir-fries.

It also can give a kick to soups and chilis … and I will drink a shot (1-2 Tbsp) once a day as it helps boost the immune system.

🔥FIRE CIDER 🔥
(makes about 3½ cups/825 ml)

ÂĽ cup (100 grams) peeled & grated horseradish
½ cup (85 grams) of peeled & chopped ginger
1 small onion, chopped
6 garlic cloves, smashed
1 Tbsp turmeric
6 sprigs of rosemary
ÂĽ tsp cayenne pepper
2 organic jalapeno peppers, washed and chopped
1 organic lemon, washed, and cut into quarters
3 cups (710 ml) unfiltered raw apple cider vinegar
3 Tbsp honey

Combine all of the ingredients up to the lemons in a glass container (a quart-sized mason jar is perfect). Squeeze the lemons in, and then drop the rinds inside.

Pour the vinegar in over the other ingredients until they are submerged. (Do NOT add the honey yet! That comes later.)

Cover and shake the jar gently to make sure everything is combined, and then move the jar to a dark spot to sit for about a month.

When it’s time to finish the preparation, line a colander with cheesecloth and place it over a large bowl. Pour the mixture through the colander to strain, catching the liquid in the bowl. Squeeze the cheesecloth to get as much liquid out as possible!

Clean the mason jar and rinse well, and then pour the liquid back in or you can bottle it in a pretty jar. Add the honey, seal the jar tightly, and shake it well to combine. Taste and add more honey if necessary.
